Alexander Smith, born May 30, 1747 at Randolph County, North Carolina, died September 8, 1828 
at Randolph County, North Carolina.  He married Keziah Lamar on March 17, 1772 at Randolph 
County, North Carolina.  She was born in Maryland on June 17, 1754 and died February 26, 1838 at 
Randolph County, North Carolina

He was a private in the Continental Army from November 1, 1778 until June 1, 1779.   Alexander 
Smith served on the Randolph County jury on September 13, 1787.  The DAR Patriot Index says he 
died on September 8, 1825.

His tombstone at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Randolph County, North Carolina, 
reads, "Private Continental Army Revolutionary War".

Alexander's  parents were David Smith, born about 1723 at North Carolina died May 02, 1787 at 
North Carolina and Anna Barbara Jenkins Kern, born about 1745 at North  Carolina and died in 
North Carolina.
