James McCanlis/McCanles

James McCanlis/McCanles was born in Pennsylvania. He married Jane McDowell.  He 
is listed in the Orange County NC deeds in April 1768. His will in Orange County links 
him to his wife,Jane, and children. To wit: John Cammons, Robert  Lindsay, Elizabeth 
Johns, James David and William MCanlish. It was written in 1783 and proven in May 1784.
Jane/Jean McCanless' will is in Orange County in 1806.

One of James and Jane McCanles' sons was David McCanles. David was born around 1760 
in Pennsylvania. He married Catey Wasson on 15 October 1792 in Rowan County NC.
According to land records they moved to Iredell County where they probably died  around 
1830-1835.
