White I am anxious to find (prove) the parents and any siblings of our Joseph Williams who married Martha Perritt/Parrott about 1766 as their first child was born ca 1767 and the next, a son Henry b Aug. 23, 1769. There are so many listed in error but I haven't found records to prove any ancestor in his family. He mother is stated as being Mary Mewborn and his father as Joseph Williams but the only indication of that is that Joseph and Martha named a son, Mewborn. Thomas Mewborn's will (1749) mentions a daughter, Mary but no married name attached. Family lore is recorded by 3rd and 4th generation descendants so that is not all that reliable. Joseph Williams enlisted but he was later in Duplin Co. in 1784. He lived in the area that became Sampson Co. and moved from there to Anson Co. around 1800. He died July 6, 1825 in Anson Co., NC.
