William S Lyon

This information is contributed by James R Saddler

It has been documented by the DAR and residents of Lawrence County Kentucky
that William S Lyon served with the North Carolina Line during the war for our independence.

Records passed on by Gypsie Lyon Saddler to me indicate that her GGGGGrandfather was
born February 17, 1752 in Culepper County Virginia and he passed away April 25,1847 in
Lawrence County Kentucky.

William S Lyon with his father Alexander Lyon his Mother Judith ( Hill ) Lyon and family
moved to Wilkes County North Carolina prior to 1776.

(I would like to have an exact date as to when they moved to NC.)

His pension records and burial records in Lawrence County Kentucky indicate that William
served as a private with the North Carolina Line during the Revolution.
He is buried in the Lyon-Holbrook Cemetery in Martha (Lawrence County) Kentucky
