This information is contributed by Virginia Ring Christoph Guthman (later translated as Christopher Goodman) came around 1745 to Salisbury NC His name is in the Organ church Book as being one of the Men starting the church in 1774. There are several baptism records of Goodmans listed. I have a two page history of their travels from Penn to NC. “German Soldiers” gallantry were described in the records of the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War and the Civil war. The Goodman “fighting men” were mostly privates and sergeants with one colonel listed. More than one-Half of the males in Rowan county were in the civil War and included many of the Goodman men. I would like to find more on this journey. How do I do this? |
